I'm sure ALL of you know about Denny's and their celebration of bacon. I know we've all thought about putting bacon in our sundae. Heck, we've thought of bacon wrapped EVERYTHING, and the bacon weave. Denny's just decided to say, "Hey! We, too, want to celebrate bacon." But it's Denny's. They're just adding extra bacon. They're doing what we've already been doing.
Normally I would applaud this celebration but not after my recent visit.
I went to the Denny's in Santa Monica on Lincoln to do some research about their Baconalia. I wanted to see what their staff had to say about Baconalia and to learn more about what seemed like an amazing idea. I mean, they have a bacon pyramid. How awesome is that?
But when I talked to the server who greeted us, I went flaccid. First, she said she's a vegetarian when I asked her about Baconalia. I do not have anything against vegetarians. Hey, I like tofu. I like salad. No big deal. But then the next thing out of her mouth made me want to slap the tofu loving, salad stuffing, bitch.
"I think bacon is the most disgusting thing ever."
Was it necessary to rip my heart out with such cruel words? I get that you don't eat meat, but don't insult my bacon beliefs.
Shame on you Denny's for allowing such people to tarnish your celebration of bacon. You had such a good thing going. But now I know...it's all lies. That's like having someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas be Santa Claus at the mall...and then tell all the kids that Santa Claus doesn't exist.
